If in doubt, use an airflow measuring device to measure the air
speed in the duct.
3.2

Installation position

Avoid selecting an installation position near ducts with dead-air
space or areas with turbulence.
Turbulence mainly occurs near connecting flanges, branches,
tight bends, and long, straight ducts.
Place the FAD-420-HS-EN at a distance of at least three times
the width of the ventilation duct [b ≥ 3 x d] away from these
critical areas (see Figure 3.1).
3.3

Housing position

The FAD-420-HS-EN must only be mounted in a vertical or
horizontal position (see Figure 3.2).
