ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
ATTACHING SIDE HANDLE
The side handle can be fitted to either side or top of the gear case
in the threaded holes (*), as shown. Before using the tool, check
that the handle is securely tightened.
FITTING AND REMOVING GUARD
IMPORTANT: Unplug the tool before fitting or removing the guard.
Use the tool without the guard only when sanding. The grinder is
equipped with a guard for use when using grinding wheels, sand-
ing flap discs, wire brushes and wire wheels. Be sure to remount
the guard after sanding and before any other operation.
FITTING GUARDS
1. Loosen screws (I), allowing the guard ring (J) to slide over the
gear case hub (K).
2. Align the lugs on the guard ring with the
groove in the gear case hub.
3. With the guard latch open, rotate the
guard into the working position providing
maximum protection to the user.
4. Tighten screws (I) to securely attach
guard to gear case hub.
REMOVING GUARDS
1. Loosen screws (I), allowing the guard
ring (J) to slide over the gear case hub
(K).
2. Align the lugs on the guard ring with the groove in the gear case
hub.
3. Lift the guard off of the gear case hub.
