MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Except for the changing of the speech diaphragm (14) and the mask connector (7), all maintenance operations can be performed without special tools.
Inhalation valve flap and connector gasket.
The inhalation valve flap (10) and the connector gasket (9) can be replaced by hand. Make sure that the valve (10) is correctly positioned.
Exhalation valve flap ("Negative pressure mask")
•
Unscrew (8) and remove the grid (11) of the mask connector (7).
•
Remove the old flaps (5).
•
Insert the new ones (5) and make sure that they are clean (no dust).
•
Clip and screw grid (11) on the mask connector (7).
Inner mask.
•
Remove the old inner mask (1).
•
Insert the new one (1), positioning the lower part into the groove of the screw (15) while maintaining the speech diaphragm (14).
Mask connector.
•
Remove the inner mask (1).
•
Cut the connector fixing ring (16) with a pair of pincers.
•
Change the connector (7) and make sure the face blank rubber is correctly positioned.
•
Tighten the new connector fixing ring (16) with SPERIAN pliers or possibly with a pair of nippers:
Visor.
•
Remove the neck strap (17).
•
Remove the screws of the visor clamps (3).
•
Slip visor (2) out of the mask by gently pulling away mask rubber ensuring the groove of the mask is clean.
•
Ease new visor (2) into groove and ensure it is correctly positioned all around.
•
Refit clamps, push firmly into position and secure clamp screws and nuts (3).
•
Put neck strap on (17).
Speech diaphragm and O-ring seal.
•
Remove inner mask (1) and sieve of the mask connector (12).
•
Loosen the screw (15) of the speech diaphragm (14) with the SPERIAN special tool.
•
Remove the speech diaphragm (14).
•
Change the O-ring seal (13) and lubricate with silicon grease.
•
Position the speech diaphragm (14) in the box and refasten the screw (15).
•
Put the sieve (12) and the inner mask (1) back into the connector (7).
Head harness.
•
Pull front and side straps of head harness (4) free of the reels (18) while pushing the buckle clips forward.
•
Pull the straps of the new head harness (4) through the reels (18) which you find on the buckles.
