5.2.1
Wheel mounting
1. Use the locking flange control to lock the locking
flange completely.
2. Place the wheel on the platform.
3. Use the mandrel-holding arm movement control to
place the locking flange inside the rim.
4. Use the locking flange control to open the locking
flange until rim locking is achieved.
i
The locking flange is driven by the high pressure
hydraulic circuit, adjustable from 20 to 130 bar by
turning the dedicated knob (Fig. 1, pos. 20) and rea-
ding the value on the manometer (Fig. 1, pos. 21).
Normal working pressure is 130 bar. For weak or
particularly thin rims it is necessary to decrease this
pressure.
i
The locking flange has 6 jaws for the locking of any
type of rim from 14" to 42".

i
For the 42" to 56" rims 6 extensions that can be
mounted on the locking jaws are delivered on re-
quest.
i
For aluminium and light alloy rims 6 nylon protec-
tions that can be fitted on the jaws are available.
For particularly difficult tires it is essential to place
the two stops (1) on the rim holes to avoid eventual
sliding of the rim on the nylon protections.
i
For wheels having a diameter of less than 800 mm or
more than 1500 mm, it is suggested to take off the
mounting tool pin (Fig. 1, pos. 12) and put it in the
second hole.
