Kit Purpose
This kit is provided for installing an SX-A/DPS-A conversion kit on older 3.0L, 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L and 8.1L engines.
Affected Models
This kit applies to all SX-A and DPS-A model sterndrives.

NOTE! For some applications, you must drill two additional holes when mounting the transom shield. Please use
the transom cutout template (included in the transom shield kit) for drilling the holes. For additional instruc-
tions, please refer to the SX-A/DPS-A Installation Manual.
NOTE! To complete the installation of this kit, you may need to purchase the following hose: PN 3817582 for 3.0
and PN 3817579 for all other engines.
CAUTION! Be sure to use new clamps provided in these kits; discard old clamps. Failure to use
new clamps may cause damage to the bellows, leading to component damage.
CAUTION! The static water line height must be tested before the engine is started for the first time.
This will prevent the ingestion of water into the engine and resultant damage.
