CAUTION! Never allow the measuring range of the meter to be smaller than the measured value. This can
damage the meter and cause electric shock.
The correct connection of the test leads is:
The red test lead goes in the jack marked VΩmAμA or A.
The black test lead goes in the jack marked COM.
In order to achieve the highest possible measurement accuracy, optimal measurement conditions should be ensured.
The range of temperature and humidity is given in the technical data.
Example of accuracy determination
Accuracy: ±(% of indication + weight of the least signifi cant digit)
Measurement of DC voltage: 1.396 V
Accuracy: ±(0.8% + 5)
Calculation of error: 1.396 x 0.8% + 5 x 0.001 = 0.011168 + 0.005 = 0.016168
Measurement result: 1.396 V ± 0.016 V
Voltage measurement
Connect the test leads to the jacks marked VΩmAμA and COM. Set the main switch to the voltage measurement
position. Press the SEL button to select the type of the voltage to be measured. Connect the test leads in parallel to
an electrical circuit and read the resultant voltage. Never measure a voltage which is higher than the maximum meas-
uring range. This can damage the meter and cause electric shock. After selecting the lowest measurement range
and when the test leads are disconnected, a changing measurement value can be seen on the display. It is a normal
phenomenon. To eliminate it, is enough to connect the tips of test leads with each other.
Current measurement
Depending on the expected current value, connect the test leads to the VΩmAμA and COM jacks or to the A and
COM jacks. Select the appropriate measuring range using the knob. The maximum voltage of the measured current
in the VΩmAμA jack can be 600 mA, if the current exceeds 600 mA, connect the test lead to the jack marked A. The
maximum voltage of the measured current in the A jack can be 10 A. For this reason, the measurement time for
currents greater than 5 A must not exceed 10 seconds, after which a minimum interval of 3-5 minutes must be applied
before the next measurement. The VΩmAμA jack can be loaded with a maximum current of 600 mA. It is forbidden
to exceed the maximum values of currents and voltages for a given jack. The test leads must be connected in
series to the tested electrical circuit. Select the range and type of measured current by means of a switch and read
the measurement result. Start by selecting the maximum measuring range. The measuring range can be changed in
order to obtain more accurate measurement results.
Resistance or capacitance measurement
Connect the test leads to the jacks marked VΩmAμA and COM and set the range switch in the resistance/capacitance
measurement position, and then with the SEL button select the type of the measured value - Ω indicator: resistance
measurement, F indicator: capacitance measurement. Apply the test leads to the terminals of the measured element
and read the measurement result. In order to obtain more accurate measurement results, change the measuring
range if necessary. It is absolutely forbidden to measure the resistance of elements with electric current fl ow-
ing through them, or that of the charged capacitors. For measurements of high resistance capacitors or capaci-
tors of greater capacitance, the measurement may take a few seconds before the readout becomes stable, which is
the normal response for high values measurements. In the resistance measurement mode, before applying the test
leads to the terminals of the measured element, an overload symbol is shown on the display.
LED test/conductivity test
Connect the test leads to the jacks marked VΩmAμA and COM and set the knob to the diode symbol. This measuring
mode is an automatic mode and does not require the selection of the measured quantity by means of the SEL button.
Apply the tips of the test leads to the ends of the measured element. If the resistance of the measured element is
lower than 30 Ω then the meter tests the conductivity. The display shows the resistance result, the sound signal is
