EN INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT
The TR 2002 mask is the result of many years of experience and research in the field of breathing protection, but only
close observance of the instructions laid out in this booklet can guarantee perfect service and safe use of the mask.
SPASCIANI S.p.A. take no responsibility for damages which may occur due to incorrect or inappropriate use of the
mask, nor following maintenance carried out by any company other than SPASCIANI S.p.A. or their authorized agents.
It has to be stressed that breathing apparatus must always be used by specially trained people, supervised by a person
perfectly aware of the limits of application of the apparatus itself and of the laws in being in the Country concerned.
1. WARNING AND LIMITS OF APPLICATION
The TR 2002 masks do protect respiratory pathways only when equipped with compatible respiratory protective
devices (Filtering or Self‐contained), as described under "Technical Description" and "Compatibility".
For the use with gas, particle and combined filters, airline or fresh air systems do follow the directions and
limitations of use as indicated in the relevant manufacturer's instructions.
Bearded people and/or people wearing spectacles cannot safely wear a gasmask, as facial hair or side arms interfere
with the seal of the mask on the face. Corrective glasses with special frames, supplied upon request, can be used,
though.
TR 2002 CL2, TR 2002 CL3, TR 2002 S CL3, TR 2002 BN CL2, TR 2002 BN CL3 and TR 2002 S BN CL3 can be used
together with filters only in areas where the Oxygen concentration is > 17% in volume (this limit may vary according
to national regulations).
For the use with self‐contained breathing apparatus make sure that the air quality meets EN 12021 specifications.
Before entering a contaminated area verify the mask tightness as indicated in point 4.3.
The TR 2002 CL2, TR 2002 CL3 and TR 2002 S CL3 masks cannot be used for positive pressure breathing apparatus.
Masks with special exhalation valves must be used for this type of apparatus.
The TR 2002 masks cannot either be used with closed cycle oxygen breathing apparatus. Masks with‐ out exhalation
valves must be used for this type of apparatus.
The TR 2002 A CL2, TR 2002 A CL3 and TR 2002 S A CL3 cannot be used for negative pressure devices.
The reference standard EN 136 does not require any chemical permeation test. In presence of particularly
aggressive chemicals do ensure the suitability of the chosen material (contact the manufacturer).
The TR 2002 masks are designed to be compatible with most common headgears (Helmets, ear muffs etc.). Not
being possible, though, to ensure a full compatibility with all products, do check that the mask be compatible with
any other protective equipment used at the same time (also in this case contact the manufacturer).
