3.3.2 Cylinder re‐filling
Warning:
air
for
compressed
Refill cylinder only if:
‐ it meets national regulations
‐ it shows the date and the stamp of the manufacturer
‐ the date of test has not elapsed
Do not use damaged cylinders.
Refilling Procedure
Refill at the working pressure shown on the neck of the cylinder.
Warning: fill gradually with a compressor and avoid the use of pouring systems at high pressure. Too quick
an entry of air could damage gaskets and cause leaks from the apparatus.
1) The cylinder shall be free from harness or bag, therefore the apparatus shall be previously disassembled
2) Ensure that the set is completely closed (knob fully screwed on)
3) Unscrew the refilling connector cover by means of a spanner (available on request from SPASCIANI) and
make sure that the o‐ring be in its seat
4) Connect the refilling adapter supplied by SPASCIANI (P/N 531700000) which converts thread M15x1,25
into the standard EN 144‐2
5) Connect to the filling ramp and fill to a pressure 10% higher than the nominal working pressure. After
cooling down, the pressure will return to normal. Should the final pressure be too low repeat the
operation. While filling check that there be no leaks from the hose or gauge with soapy water.
4 MAINTENANCE AND CHECKS
4.1 Maintenance
Checks described at paragraphs 3.1 and 3.3 (before use, after use and refilling) shall be regularly performed
and if they show any malfunction it is mandatory to do extraordinary maintenance operations.
4.2 Scheduled Maintenance
The efficiency of the apparatus is given by the gauge indication that shall correspond to full charge. If the
cylinder is even partially empty, the apparatus shall be sent to SPASCIANI or to an appointed Agent for
revision. It is highly recommended to check pressure at least every six months. It is also recommended to
perform a functionality and tightness test at least annually. Every three years the apparatus shall be
reconditioned and all o‐rings and gaskets replaced with final control of regulator.
