How to Gang Mount Cabinets
Each cabinet and Side Kit contains special connectors to
allow many different combinations of cabinets, both sur-
face-mounted using the Side Kit and recessed into the
wall. An example using these connector combinations is
shown in Figure H and Figure I.
NOTES:
Assemble the boxes on a convenient fl at surface,
not on or in the wall.
If you purchased lights, check the instructions
provided with the light kits. Do not attach doors,
or side kits until the boxes are secured to the wall.
Note the location of holes in the cabinets which
are used to
secure connectors and side kits (see
Figure C on page 3).
1. With the doors off, combine the cabinet boxes with
the proper connectors to assemble the units per
your layout. Use
the #10 X ½" (12.7 mm) Thread Cut
screws to attach the boxes.
2. Depending on how you
going to install your cabinets
go to "How to Surface Mount
Cabinets" on page 4 or "How
to Recess Mount Cabinets"
on page 5.
NOTES FOR SURFACE MOUNTING
CONNECTED CABINETS
For
combinations of cabinets more
than 45" (1143 mm) wide, you must
use more than one mounting bar.
CAUTION:
A complete 3-door unit is 120 - 150
pounds (54.4 - 68 kg) when empty.
It is strongly recommended that a
support similar to that used for a
wall-mounted sink be framed into
the wall during construction as
shown in Figure D on page 4.
A three-cabinet
installation on a
hollow wall should have 9 anchors in
the Mounting Bar (follow the Poly-set
Anchor instructions on page 4).
