NTERCOM COMMUNICATION
Once all the buttons which have to call the various intercom codes
have been programmed, it is sufficient to press the button
corresponding to the intercom code to be called to make the call.
The person receiving the call has 60 seconds to enter into
communication with the caller by lifting the receiver.
The communication is ended by hanging up the receiver.
During an intercom conversation it is not possible to send a request
to carry out a certain function (e.g. door-opener) from another
internal extension connected to the same intercom network.
Therefore, by pressing any pushbutton, the red LED will flash for a
few seconds which signals that the system is engaged.
The users in conversation can, on the other hand, send requests
for functions to devices connected on the Bus line of the riser (e.g.
door-opener).
C
OMMUNICATION WITH THE EXTERNAL UNIT
By pressing the call button on the external unit, the visitor activates
the bell of the internal extension.
On the external unit there is the call made confirmation tone. If the
call confirmation tone is not heard in systems with several
entrances, it means that another conversation is in progress
towards another external unit installed on the same riser.
In the Powercom series of external units an engaged tone is heard
and when Art. 3346 - the module for signalling system engaged - is
installed, wait until the module turns off before calling again.
If Art. 3340 is installed, the system engaged indication is shown on
the display.
At the internal extension the image is shown (if this is a monitor)
and you enter into communication by lifting the microtelephone.
In the case of several devices with the same user code, the bell will
ring on all the internal extensions and you can enter into
communication with the external unit from any one of them. The
image is shown on the Main internal extension connected to the
lowest output in numerical order (example: L1 if they occupy L1,
L2 and L3) among those occupied by the monitors with the same
user code - see the example on page 24.
In the case of Secondary monitors, in order to see the image after
a call from the external unit it is necessary to carry out a Video
Request command.
During a conversation with the external unit, from an extension not
in communication, it is not possible to send requests for functions
to devices connected to the Bus line of the riser e.g.: Door-opener.
The user in conversation with the external unit can, on the other
hand, send requests to the riser for functions of the external unit or
of other articles installed on the riser (e.g.: door-opener, general
actuator).

NTERCOM CALLS DURING CONVERSATION WITH EXTERNAL
.
UNIT
An intercom call does not have priority in relation to a conversation/
call with the external unit.
In this case, during an intercom call attempt, the LED will flash for a
few seconds to signal that the system is engaged.

NTRUSION OF A CALL FROM EXTERNAL UNIT INTO
AN INTERCOM CONVERSATION
A call from the external unit has, in any case, priority in relation to
an intercom communication.
The users who are already having an intercom conversation will
hear a tone similar to the Call tone in the receiver if the call is
addressed to them or otherwise a triple signalling tone.
To answer the call from the external unit from an apparatus
involved in the intercom conversation, you must hang up the
receiver and then lift it again.
The image is shown on the monitor at the moment the receiver is
hung up if the monitor is a Main one, whereas if it is a Secondary
one, you have to press the Video Request button before being put
into communication.
Activation of the communication with the external unit interrupts the
intercom conversation which was previously in progress.
If nobody hangs the receiver up on a call from the external unit, the
intercom conversation in progress continues.
M
ULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS
It is possible to have two simultaneous conversations - one with the
external unit and the other on the intercom as long as the two users
involved in the intercom conversation are not connected to the
same output of interface Art. 4897 of the user involved in the
communication with the external unit.
If the internal extension in communication with the external unit is a
monitor the image will be shown.
In a general system you can therefore have a maximum number of
intercom conversations as there are interfaces Art. 4897 installed +
a riser conversation with the external unit.
