SMART ATEX – INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
Replace the fuse as follows:
-
Unplug the indicator power supply.
-
Disassemble the back cover of the equipment unscrewing the screws that fix it.
-
AC power supply:
Extract the protective cover of the fuse which is at the power supply board.
Extract the fuse by pulling it softly.
Replace the damaged fuse with a new one according the specifications of section 2.9.5, and
place back the protective cover.
DC power supply (zone 21):
Open the inline fuse holder.
Extract the fuse from the fuse holder.
Replace the damaged fuse with a new one according the specifications of section 2.9.5, and
close the inline fuse holder.

Close the equipment.
-
Install all the necessary devices to perform the restricted breathing test (zone 2 only).
-
Perform and verify the restricted breathing test has been successful (zone 2 only).
-
Remove all the necessary devices to perform the restricted breathing test (zone 2 only).
-
Properly install the blind plug to the cable gland used for the restricted breathing test (zone 2 only).
-
Plug the equipment to the power supply.
2.8.2

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

WARNING
Battery replacement shall only be performed with power supply unplugged and without
the presence of a gas or dust explosive atmosphere.
WARNING
As it is necessary to open the enclosure to replace the battery it is mandatory to perform
again the restricted breathing test "nR" for zone 2 installations (gas). See section 2.6.
Battery replacement:
-
Unplug the indicator power supply.
-
Disassemble the back cover of the equipment unscrewing the screws that fix it.
-
Remove the battery and replace it by one of the same type and characteristics (lithium battery CR2032
3V).
-
Close the equipment.
-
Install all the necessary devices to perform the restricted breathing test (zone 2 only).
-
Perform and verify the restricted breathing test has been successful (zone 2 only).
-
Remove all the necessary devices to perform the restricted breathing test (zone 2 only).
-
Properly install the blind plug to the cable gland used for the restricted breathing test (zone 2 only).
-
Plug the equipment to the power supply.
2.8.3

CLEANING

WARNING
Due to the high risk of electrostatic discharges the indicator shall always be cleaned
with a damp cloth and let dry.
WARNING
Never use alcohols or solvents to clean the indicator as these chemical products may
damage it.
Avoid water entry in the indicator as it may damage electronic components.
Unplug the equipment from the power supply.
Clean the indicator with a damp cloth and let dry.
