Servicing the air filter
!
WARNING! Danger of explosions
Do not use diesel oil or solvents with low boiling points for clean-
ing the air filter. They could ignite or explode.
!
CAUTION!
Wear an respirator mask and protection glasses.
A
NOTICE!
Never leave the engine running without an air filter. Otherwise this
quickly wears out the engine.
I
NOTE
If the air filter is dirty, the air flow to the motor is reduced. Check
the filter regularly so that the motor can function properly. Check
this more frequently if the generator is being used in particularly
dusty environments.
Check and change the fuel filter as follows (fig. 7, page 6):
➤ Remove the fixing cap (1) and the filter cover (2).
➤ Remove the knurled nut (3).
➤ Take out the air filter (4).
➤ Check the condition of the air filter (4) carefully:
Shine light into the air filter with a lamp and verify if the paper membrane
is damaged.
Replace the air filter:
– if damaged
– if soiled by humid or oily obstruction
➤ Clean the undamaged air filter of dry obstruction.
Clean the filter cartridge with dry compressed air (do not use jets of
compressed air with a pressure of more than 2 – 2.5 bar): Blow the air
from the inside towards the outside, until all the dust has been com-
pletely expelled.
➤ Clean the filter cover (2).
➤ Insert the air filter (4).
