Enable zone and safe switch off
distance
Near range
Sensor
The output of the safety sensor is only enabled on
activation within the enable zone. Outside the enable
zone, that is also in the near range, the output
remains switched off.
After activation in the near range, either the power
supply must be interrupted or the actuating element
must be placed at the safe switch off distance for
more than 2 s before enable is possible again.
The enable zone is dependent on the material and
shape of the actuating element. The use of different
actuating elements (material, shape) will result in
different enable zones.
At an ambient temperature of 20 °C, with the safety
sensor surface mounted, with a standard plate in
compliance with EN 60947D5-2 (45 × 45 × 1 mm
IN40-E01) the following enable zone is typically
achieved with different materials:
