1 Functional description
Joker hooks are manufactured for their intended purpose in ac-
cordance with DIN EN 1677-2 and combined with SpanSet round
slings in accordance with DIN EN 1492-2 and lifting straps in
accordance with DIN EN 1492-1 and used to lift loads. The various
joker hooks can be clearly identified by their manufacturer labelling
and accompanying documents. All modifications to joker hooks are
forbidden. Using joker hooks, SpanSet round slings and lifting straps
can be fastened to ring lugs, eye bolts, shackles, load frames, etc.
2 Safety instructions and handling
Only trained (authorized) persons may fasten loads. It is forbidden to
use joker hooks for any unintended use. Use the joker hook only in
combination with SpanSet round slings and lifting straps of the same
load capacity or with textile slings of the same specification. The
operating manual for the textile sling must also be read. The
operating manual for the lifting straps and round slings contain
important additional information necessary for a safe lifting process.
