• Do not attempt to disassemble or ser vice the pump or motor. No
ser viceable parts are inside. Contact your La-Z-Boy
information.
Troubleshooting for Luxur y-Lift
The electric motor in this chair is equipped with an automatic reset overload
protector. This device protects the electric motor from damage if there is an
overload, by stopping the operation of the lift motor.
If the automatic reset overload protector trips and shuts down the motor:
• Release the UP or DOWN toggle switch. The protector should reset
automatically.
If the automatic reset overload protector trips repeatedly, check the following:
• Make sure the cable tie, used to hold the chair base in place during
shipping, has been removed.
• Make sure the operating capacity of 500 pounds has not been
exceeded and there is only one occupant in the chair.
• Make sure there is nothing blocking the movement of the chair.
If the automatic reset overload protector continues to trip, or if the system
still does not work, contact your dealer for instructions on returning the
chair for examination and repair. Never attempt to make any repairs or
adjustments yourself.
There are no user maintenance or repair requirements. If the lift recliner does
not work:
1. Make sure the Power Transformer is plugged into an electrical outlet.
2. Make sure the electrical outlet is working. For example, make sure there are
no blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers.
3. Make sure all the connectors are secured; refer to the Assembly Instructions.
4. Make sure the electrical cords are not crimped or pinched. Make sure the
electrical cord or plug is not damaged.
5. Make sure the operating capacity of 500 pounds has not been exceeded
and there is only one occupant in the chair.
If the lift recliner still does not operate properly, contact your dealer for
instructions on returning the chair for examination and repair. Except for
replacement of the Power Transformer, never attempt to make any repairs or
adjustments yourself.
Power Transformer Replacement
If the Power Transformer must be replaced:
1. Unplug the Power Transformer from the electrical outlet.
2. Locate the Power Transformer connection; refer to the Assembly Instructions.
Gently pull the connectors apart to disengage.
3. Push the replacement Power Transformer connector into the mating
connector; refer to the Assembly Instructions. Make sure the connectors are
secured with no gaps between them.
