6. Hardware installatio n a nd operation
1. C hoose a location for the came ra, ke eping following guidelines in
m ind:
o Do not install the came ra in locations whe re ex treme ly high or
low te mpe ratures or ex ce ssive vibrations may occur.
o Avoid mounting the cam e ra near high ele ctro-magne tic fie lds.
o Do not aim the came ra at the sun or othe r e x tre me ly bright
obje cts.
2. The came ra can be used free standing or in com bination with the
include d m ounting brack e t. W he n the m ounting bracket is use d,
attach it to the wall or ce iling using the 2 included scre ws. Place
the cam e ra on top and se cure it with the centre scre w.
De te rm ine the desired angle and tighte n the joint scre ws.
3. C onne ct the ante nna [6] to the antenna conne ctor and/or
conne ct a ne twork cable (included) to the 8P8C (R J45) jack [9].
Note : it is possible to conne ct the came ra straight to the 8P8C
(R J45) port of a compute r. In this case a crossed cable (not
incl.) should be use d and ne twork se ttings must be configure d
manually.
4. An ex te rnal m icrophone (not incl.) can be conne cte d to the
audio input [8].
5. W he n desired, an ex te rnal speake r system can be conne cte d to
the audio output [7].
6. Plug the DC conne ctor of the powe r adaptor into the 5VDC input
jack [12]. O nly use the include d adaptor or one with the same
spe cifications.
7. Plug the adaptor into a suitable mains outle t (100~240V
AC /50~60Hz).
Notes:
• It takes about 30 se conds for the cam e ra to initialise .
• During initialisation the came ra will start moving to test the
pan/tilt functionality.
• If the im age appe ars out of focus, turn the le ns [4] to adjust.
7. Installing the software
To use the came ra, you need to install the software IP C ame ra Tool
on your compute r.
