X. Step Tube (Optional)
Step tubes are intended to be used by attendants to aid in navigating a wheelchair over an obstacle
by raising the front casters. While securely gripping the push handles, step on the step tube to move
the wheelchair over a curb or step while maintaining control of the wheelchair. Reference anti-tip
section in the event the anti-tips need to be adjusted or put into a stowed position while navigating
obstacles.
WARNING: Ensure occupant is seated securely in chair before stepping onto step tube. An
occupant not seated securely while step tube is used could fall or lose control which can cause
serious injury or death.
1. Installation (Fig. 33)
a. Slide step tube into rear frame and secure with bolt and nut.
