2. Setting the microscope

Centering the HBO mercury bulb.

Wait around 5 minutes before
proceeding with this operation to
allow the bulb to warm up properly.
1.
Turn on the mercury vapor bulb by
operating the power supply switch ①.

2.
Turn the nosepiece into an empty
position (without objectives) and remove
the protective cap, or remove an
objective from the nosepiece.
3.
Place a piece of white paper on the table
and insert the fluorescent cube "B" into
the optical path. (Fig.41)
4.
Acting on the focus screw of the collector
lens ① and on the centering screws ②
try to obtain the light spot of the bulb's
arc. (Fig.42-43)
