INSTRUCTION MANUAL
WARNING! READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE
USING THE CLEANING EQUIPMENT.
1. GENERAL SAFETY
The operator must be sufficiently informed on safe use of the
equipment, on the risks relating to the cleaning procedure, in
particular on those relating to use of detergent substances and the
relevant safety measures and emergency procedures.
- Avoid direct contact with the cleaning circuit; the no-load
voltage supplied by the generator can be dangerous in certain
circumstances;
- connection of the cleaning cables and the checking and repair
operations must be carried out with the generator off and
disconnected from the power mains;
- switch off the generator and disconnect it from the power mains
before carrying out any maintenance operation;
- implement electrical installation according to safety standards
and legislation in force;
- the generator must only be connected to a mains power supply
with neutral conductor connected to earth;
- ensure the mains socket is correctly connected to the protective
earth;
- do not use the generator in damp or wet environments or under
the rain;
- do not use cables with poor isolation or with loose connections.
- Do not carry out cleaning operations on the containers or tubing
containing or having contained flammable liquid or gaseous
products;
- move all flammable substances away from the work area (e.g.
wood, paper, rags, etc.);
- do not carry out cleaning operations inside the closed containers,
in insufficiently ventilated environments or shaped in such a way
that they can trap fumes, contact of the product with the metals to
clean produces hydrogen gas that can create an explosive mix in
contact with the air.
- install an adequate electrical insulation between the cleaning
equipment, the piece to clean and any earthed metal parts placed
nearby (accessible). This is normally obtained by wearing gloves
and standing on insulating platforms;
- always protect your eyes using goggles or transparent masks;
- wear rubber gloves, avoiding exposing the skin to contact with
cleaning liquid.
- Passage of the cleaning current creates electromagnetic fields
(EMF) localised around the cleaning circuit.
The electromagnetic fields can interfere with certain medical
equipment (e.g. pace-maker, breathing apparatuses, metal
prostheses etc.).
Adequate safety measures must be taken for wearers of such
equipment. For example, access to the use area should be prevented
to wearers of such equipment.
The operator must use the following procedures to reduce exposure
to electromagnetic fields:
- Fasten the two cables of the cleaning circuit as close together as
possible.
- Keep your head and torso as far as possible from the cleaning
circuit.
- Never wind the cleaning cables around your body.
- Connect the cleaning current return cable to the piece to clean as

(EN)

near as possible to the joint being done.
- Never leave iron magnetic objects near the cleaning circuit.
- Minimum distance d = 20cm (Fig. G).
- Class B equipment:
This equipment meets the requirements of the technical standard
for use in an industrial environment, in domestic use buildings and
those connected directly to a low voltage power supply network that
furnishes buildings designated to domestic use.
RESIDUAL RISKS
- OVERTURNING: place the generator on a horizontal surface of
adequate capacity for its weight; on the contrary (e.g. tilted,
broken flooring, etc.) there is a danger of overturning;
- IMPROPER USE: it is dangerous to use the equipment, and in
particular the generator, for any work other than that planned (e.g.
arc welding operations of any kind, defrosting water pipes);
- Do not use the handle to hang the generator.
WARNING FOR CLEANING LIQUIDS
- DO NOT DILUTE WITH WATER.
- DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER LIQUIDS.
FOR ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ASK FOR THE SAFETY DATA SHEET.
ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
- Before carrying out any handling operations of the cleaning liquid
and using the kit, read the safety data sheet carefully for the
product presented as a label on the container.
- Avoid disposing of the liquid in sewers, on land and public water
mains; comply with regulations in force in each country.
2. INTRODUCTION AND GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This equipment enables cleaning operations on seams welded with TIG
processes. The cleaning procedure fully removes all colouration and
oxidation effects on the material, which is normal after arc welding,
making the welded piece bright and giving the welding seam a relief,
aesthetic appearance.
STANDARD ACCESSORIES
- generator with power cable and earth return cable;
- cleaning equipment (tip and pen);
- spare strips;
- container with 1 litre of solution (Yellow);
- container with 1 litre of solution (Green);
- empty pouring jar.
OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
- marking kit:
- marking equipment;
- container with 1 litre of Blue solution.
3. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
RATING PLATE
The main information on the use and performance of the generator is
summarised on the rating plate and has the following meanings:
1- Protection rating of the casing.
2- Symbol of the main power supply:
1~: single phase alternating voltage.
3- Symbol S : indicates cleaning operations can be carried out in an
environment with increased risk of electric shock (e.g. in close
proximity of large metal masses).
4- Symbol of generator internal structure.
5- EUROPEAN reference standard for safety and construction of arc
welding machines.
6- Serial number to identify the generator (essential for technical
assistance, spare part requests, tracing of product origin).
7- Cleaning circuit electrical data:
: No load voltage (cleaning circuit open).
