the notch on the indexing knob opposite the locking
pin.
2. Release the mobile jaw (fig. 1, item 3) from the
guide rod (fig. 1, item 7) by pulling on the indexing
knob (fig. 1, item 4).
3. Disengage the mobile jaw (fig. 1, item 3) then the
fixed jaw (fig. 1, item 6) from the beam.
4. Release the indexing knob (fig. 1, item 4) and check
that the mobile jaw (fig. 1, item 3) is blocked on the
guide rod (fig. 1, item 7).

11. Warranty, service life
maintenance and
overhaul of system
11.1 Warranty, service life
The service life of the rollclamp anchor point
recommended by Tractel
®
manufacture, provided the system is used normally in
full observance of the utilization and maintenance
instructions given in this manual.
Should the 10-year period following the date of
manufacture have expired, the unit must be inspected
by a qualified technician for autorisation to return the
unit to service.
IMPORTANT: The rollclamp Anchor point must
be inspected at least once annually by a qualified
technician. Return to service of the unit is subject to the
technician's autorisation which must be given in writing.
When a rollclamp Anchor point has stopped a fall, it
must be inspected by Tractel SAS or by a Tractel SAS-
certified technician, in strict observance of the
disassembly and reassembly instructions given in the
repair manual.
FILLING IN THE INSPECTION SHEET: Fill in
the inspection results on the detachable inspection
sheet located at the centre of this manual.
NOTE: The rollclamp anchor system is a
repairable product. Should you observe any defects,
remove and store the unit to prevent use, then send it
to Tractel
®
or an approved repair agent for overhaul.
11.2 Maintenance
• If the rollclamp anchor system is dirty, wash it with
cold, clear water, using a detergent for delicate
fabrics if necessary. Use a synthetic brush.
• If a rollclamp anchor system is wet, allow it to dry
naturally in the shade away from any source of heat.
11.3 Overhaul
is 10 years as of the date of
DANGER: The rollclamp anchor system must
be overhauled:
1. When an anomaly is observed during an annual
(or not) inspection, or whenever a malfunction is
identified, or if the system appears to be in a poor
condition.
2. When the rollclamp anchor system has served to
stop a fall.
3. When the rollclamp anchor system shows abnormal
deformation.
4. When the locking knob is no longer functional.
5. When the securing strap shows any signs of
damage.
6. When the mobile jaw shows any sticking points
when sliding on the guide rod.

12. Do nots

Do not:
1. Do not install or use the rollclamp anchor system
without the necessary authorisation, training and
skill certifi cation, or failing any of these, without the
supervision of an authorised, trained and skilled
technician.
2. Do not use the rollclamp anchor system if any of the
markings on the unit are not present or not legible
(see § 16).
3. Do not install or use a rollclamp anchor system
which has not been covered by the necessary
preliminary checks (see § 8.2).
4. Do not use a rollclamp anchor system which has not
been covered by a periodic inspection over the past
twelve months by a technician authorising reuse of
the unit in writing (see §11.1).
5. Do not use a rollclamp anchor point for any appli -
cation other than as a worker fall arrest anchor point.
6. Do not install the rollclamp anchor point on a beam
having a mechanical strength of less than 10 kN at
any point along the travel distance.
7. Do not install the rollclamp anchor system in any
way other than as described in this manual.
8. Do not install the rollclamp anchor point if any one
of the dimensions of the anchoring beam is not
appropriate with respect to the rollclamp model.
9. Do not install the rollclamp anchor point on a beam
having a slope with respect to the horizontal greater
than 2°.
10. Do not install a rollclamp anchor point on a beam
having limit stops which do not function correctly.
11. Do not secure yourself to the rollclamp anchor point
using a connector which is not made of metal or for
which the diameter of the metal is less than 8 mm.
12. Do not use the rollclamp anchor system as a fall-
arrest anchor point for more than 1 person.
13. Do not use a rollclamp anchor system which has
served to arrest a worker fall.
14. Do not use the rollclamp anchor system as a means
of suspension for holding a work position.
15. Do not use the rollclamp anchor system in an
explosive atmosphere.
16. Do not use the rollclamp anchor system in a highly
corrosive atmosphere.
