If the drive chain or sprockets are excessively worn or da-
maged, they should be replaced. Never use a new chain with
worn sprockets; rapid chain wear will result.
Adjustment:
If the drive chain requires adjustment, the procedure is as
follows:

1. Place a support block under the engine to raise the rear
1. Rear axle nut
wheel off the ground.
2. Adjuster
2. Loosen the rear axle nut (l).
A. Adjuster index mark
3. Tum the both the right and left chain adjusters (2) to an
equal number of turns to increase or decrease chain slack.
Align the chain adjuster index marks(3)with the same mark
on both sides of the swing arm.
4. Tighten the axle nut.
5. Recheck drive chain slack.
6. Rear brake pedal free play is affected when repositioning
the rear wheel to adjust drive chain slack. Check rear brake
pedal free play and adjust as necessary.
If a torque wrench is not used for this installation, see your
CLIPIC dealer as soon as possible to verify proper assembly.
