SPACING SELECTION
ONLY FOR CAMPA 9Sp. and 10 Sp.
1) Remove the "B" plug from the right lever body.
2) With a punch, remove the inner rubber ORING (it is used as a stop).
3) Remount the "B"plug.
a) Select the spacing (picture 3 for front derailleur and picture 4 for rear derailleur)
with a medium blade screwdriver, by turning the front notch of the slider.
(Under the lever-hood there's a sticker where you can fi nd a memo of the various
speeds).
If the red notch of the selector of the rear derailleur coincides with the red notch on
the plastic housing, you have selected SHIMANO 9-Speed. If you turn the selector
clockwise, you'll meet in succession:
INDEX, CAMPA 10Sp, CAMPA 9Sp, SHIMANO 7Sp, SHIMANO 8Sp, and again
SHIMANO 9S. While turning the selector, you'Il feel its catch position when it
fi nds a fi rm seatíng (every 601).
To do this operation, it is easiest to bring the slider ali for
wards, using the longer shift lever.
b) Bring the selector of the front derailieur (left lever) all backwards for the triple
chainwheel, or two clicks forward from the end-stroke for the double chainwheel.
c) Bring the selector of the rear derailleur (right lever) all backwards (=smallest
sprocket).
d) Lubricate the brake-cable and insert it from the bottom of the lever; turn it around
the pulley and insert it into the appropriate hole in the body (it is advisable to use a
tefl on grease).
e) Cut the cable-housing to the right length, long enough for steering well
and obtaining smooth sliding curves; insert the cable, position it on the
handlebar until it butts up against the lever-body, fi x it with adhesive
tape in various points on the handlebar and attach the cable to the brake caliper.
The brake-cable always routes of the back of the handlebar (Pic. 5)
f) Lubricate the shifting cable and insert it from the front into the slider.
