PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE FOR THE MODEL RS950 WITH AN INCORPORATED PROGRAMMER
• Before carrying out programming, following the flow diagram, read the "Functions"
paragraph on page 10, carefully.
• All the described programming procedures have a time limit in which an operation
must be completed. If you do not carry out an operation within 30 seconds of the
last given command the system will reset and exit programming.
• If the sensor SWS2C is to be installed you must wire it to the programmer before carry-
ing out programming (it must be connected and active when you reset the system).
• Each time the motor stops there will be a pause of 0.5 seconds during which all
commands will be ignored.
• A sun blind/shutter moving in the opposite direction to that expected means that the
motor has not been installed conventionally. Carry on with the programming and at
step "6" you will be able to define the relationship between the direction of the motor
and the conventional transmitter button functions.
• Once the system has been correctly installed and powered up, you start from the
condition "normal operating mode" where you can choose, as is indicated in the
diagram on the right, to carry out a new installation (starting from step 1) or modify
an existing installation (starting from step 3). In the case of a new installation you start
with any transmitter, in the case of an existing installation you must use a transmitter
that has already been memorised.
Step 1) Reset
The "reset" operation cancels all memorised transmitter codes. It does not effect the
motor's travel movement values in any way. It also automatically enables the SWS2C
sensor if it is connected and active. Proceed as follows:
- bridge the "RST" wire with the "SERIAL" wire for about 10 seconds;
- wait for the SWS2C sensor presence control which requires a maximum of
5 seconds;
- If the sensor is detected the motor will move upwards for "0.5 seconds",
downwards for "0.5 seconds" and the system be set to work with a sun blind;
- If the sensor is not detected the motor will not move;
- protect the "RST" wire using isolating tape or a terminal block;
- the system will move on to programming step 2 and wait for a command.
If the SWS2C sensor connection fails for more than 30 seconds (assuming it has been
previously activated) the programmer will move the sun blind in the closing direction to
protect it.
Step 2) Manual operation
Manual operation, only possible after having carried out the "reset" procedure, is used
to position the motor so that sufficient space is left with respect to the upper and lower
stop points to allow the upwards and downward indicating movements required during
programming. After having carried out the "reset" procedure press the required transmitter
button three times rapidly and keep it held down after the third time. The motor will start
moving and will stop when you release it automatically setting the motor travel distance
to the safety minimum of about 2 seconds.
Step 3) Press the "PMR" button
From step 3 onwards movement between the various programming stages is always
achieved by pressing the "PMR" button and this is signalled by the motor moving as
follows; ascending for 1,0 sec. - descending for 1,0 sec.
Step 4) Memorising/Cancelling 2 and 4-channel transmitters
Press button "A" on the transmitter:
-
If the transmitter is not present in memory the system will not respond and it will
wait for the same button "A" to be pressed again to confirm memorisation.
When the button "A" has been pressed for the second time the motor will carry out a
cycle of 0,5 sec. ascending + 0,5 sec. descending. At this point you have 30 seconds
in which to memorise/cancel another transmitter or press the "PMR" button to move
on to the next stage.
-
If the transmitter is present in memory the motor will carry out a cycle of 0,5 sec.
ascending + 0,5 sec. descending.
To cancel the transmitter press button "A" the motor will descend for 0,5 sec. To
abort the operation press button "B". At this point you have 30 seconds in which to
memorise/cancel another transmitter or press the "PMR" button to move on to the
next stage.
Step 5) Memorising/Cancelling 3-channel transmitters
The method is the same used for the 2 and 4-channel transmitters. At this point
-
you have 30 seconds in which to memorise/cancel another transmitter or press the
"PMR" button to move on to the next stage.
Step 6) Defining the transmitter button ascending relationship
Press button "A/C" on the transmitter:
-
If the motor ascends, press the "PMR" button to move on to the next stage.
-
If the motor descends, press button "B/D" on the transmitter to set the channel
relationship and then press the "PMR" button to move on to the next stage.
Step 7) Setting the Top Dead Centre "PMS"
-
Press button "A/B" on the transmitter and move the shutter/sun blind manually to the
top dead centre position required. Moving the system in this way will automatically
set the motor travel distance to the safety minimum of about 2 seconds.
-
Press the "PMR" button to move on to the next stage . The motor will carry out a
cycle of 1,0 sec. descending + 1,0 sec. ascending to confirm the setting.
Step 8) Setting the Bottom Dead Centre "PMI"
-
Press button "A/B" on the transmitter and move the shutter/sun blind manually to the
bottom dead centre position required. Moving the system in this way will automati-
"PMI"
cally update the
position to the stop point reached in the last manoeuvre.
-
Press the "PMR" button to confirm the choice and end programming. The motor
will ascend completely (step 9) to confirm the setting.
