2.7 Improper use
The operating safety of the supplied product is
only guaranteed for conventional use in accord-
ance with Section 4 of the operating instructions.
The limit values must on no account fall under or
exceed those specified in the catalogue/data
sheet.
3 Transport and interim storage
The pressure boosting system is delivered on a
pallet and is protected from dust and moisture by
transparent plastic wrapping.
CAUTION! Risk of damage! Transport only using a
properly approved load hoist.
When hoisting with a crane, use the transport
lugs on the pumps (see Fig. 10)
The pipes are not designed for hoisting of the
pressure boosting system and must never be
used for securing or fastening during transit.
CAUTION! Risk of leakage!
Loading of the pipes in transit can result in leaks!
Immediately check the product for any transit
damage on arrival. If any damage is found, it is to
be reported to the transport company immedi-
ately.
CAUTION! Risk of damage to the product!
If the unit is to be installed later, then it must be
stored in a dry location. Protect the product
from impacts/shock and other effects (mois-
ture, freezing etc.). Handle the unit with care.
4 Intended use (application)
The main function of the pressure boosting sys-
tem is to increase and maintain the pressure in
water supply networks which have inadequate or
no pressure.
It is used for water supply in residential houses and
small apartment buildings. The fluids pumped
through the unit are clear, non-aggressive liquids
(potable water, water-glycol mixtures ...).
The switchgear is used for automatic control,
monitoring and automatic protection of the pres-
sure boosting system.
Water is supplied to the pressure boosting system
through the municipal water supply network or
from a replenishment reservoir.
If there are pressure fluctuations in the suction
line of more than 1 bar, a pressure reducer must be
used. The output pressure downstream from the
pressure reducer (the secondary pressure) should
be used as the basis for calculating the total deliv-
ery head of the pressure boosting system.

6 Description and function
6.1 General description
The pressure boosting system is a completely pre-
assembled compact unit delivered ready for con-
nection. All that remains to be done is to connect
it to the suction and pressure pipes, the dia-
phragm pressure vessel, the protection against
low water level and the electricity supply.
Any accessories ordered are delivered separately.
When connecting to the public water supply net-
work, be sure to comply with the applicable regu-
lations and standards, and the requirements of the
water supply company. In addition, make allow-
ance for local conditions (e.g. an inlet pressure
that is too high or irregular might require the
