Technical Data:
The tested D-value is 17,82 kN. This corresponds, for example, to a towed weight of 3000 kg and
a gross vehicle weight of 4600 kg. The information contained in the vehicle title document/
registration certificate is definitive. The tested D value must not be exceeded. The permissible nose
weight must not exceed 120 kg.
A towing hitch or a shackle-type towing device may be mounted on the trailer bracket. During
installation of the shackle-type towing device, the clearance dimensions specified in Annex 1 of the
accident prevention regulations "Vehicles" (VGB 12) must be observed.
The trailer bracket must be used only for towing trailers with an appropriate towing bracket. If
installation of the trailer bracket means that the towing eye has to be removed, the trailer
bracket serves as a substitute, provided that the permissible trailer load is not exceeded and
the trailer is to be towed on normal roads.
Note 1:
The trailer bracket is a safety component and must only be mounted by qualified
personnel. If spare parts are required, these too must only be installed by qualified
personnel on the undamaged original component. Any alteration or conversion to the
trailer bracket is impermissible. Moreover, such alteration or conversion would result
in cancellation of type approval.
Note 2:
Remove insulating compound and underseal from vehicle - if applicable - in area of
contact surface of trailer bracket. Coat bare areas of bodywork with anti-corrosion
paint.
Note 3:
When driving with a trailer, follow the instructions in the vehicle manufacturer's
Owner's Manual.
