H. REAR AXLE (Fig. 16)
Axle Position - Rear Seat to Floor Height Adjustment – see Seat Height Matrix.
Rear STFH is adjusted by:
1. Using a larger/smaller diameter rear wheel (22" or 24").
2. Repositioning the axle receiver in the axle plate.
Remove rear wheel axle. Remove axle receiver (A) from current position and replace
in desired position using appropriate torque setting (see section XII. TORQUE).
NOTE–
Alteration to rear STFH, unless done in a 1 to 1 ratio with the front STFH, will require Caster
Angle Adjustment as previously described.
Wheel locks must be adjusted whenever rear axle position is altered.
I. AMPUTEE AXLE POSITION (Fig. 17)
The longer the wheel base, the greater the stability of the wheelchair. Reposition the axle
plate to the rear (B) in order to extend the wheel base.
When you have completed the adjustment, make sure that all screws have been properly
tightened (See section XII. TORQUE).
Wheel locks must be adjusted for the new position.
