USEFUL SUGGESTIONS

During the test of engine having special types of ignition or strong noise on the high
voltage circuit some malfunctions of the timing light may occur (irregular flashing,
partially lit displays, etc.).
In the above cases or in case of a problem due to electrical noise it is good rule to
follow the indications below:
•
Switch the induction clamp from standard sensitivity to reduced sensitivity
(see chapter 3.2).
•
Keep the gun cables away from possible noise sources (coil, plug wires,
distributor).
•
Disconnect and reconnect the clamps on the batteries.
ATTENTION:
Remember that some cars (such as FIAT PANDA 30 or CITROEN DIANE 2 CV)
and some big swept volume motorcycles (such as HONDA, KAWASAKI or
SUZUKI) although being equipped with 4-time engines, have double cycle
ignitions, that is ignition occurs also during the discharge phase.
In this cases to have a direct reading set the instrument to the 2-time
position.
