Adjust the tube fastener (2) by tightening the tube at the upper end of the
pump head. Make sure the tube fastener is firmly snapped into place!
5. Connect an instrument and the corresponding bags.
The fluid bags may only be hanged on the hooks intended for fluid bags. We
strongly urge using only fluid containers made of flexible materials (plastic bags).
The max. allowed dimensions for the bags are:
Width: 300 mm/11.81 inches
Height: 440 mm/17.32 inches
The device is only intended for use with flexible fluid containers. Do not use glass
containers as they might break. Fluid cannot flow quickly enough due to the
vacuum being generated inside of the bottle. Risk of implosion.
Take the cap off the instrument tube. Connect the instrument tube (5) to the
instrument.
Connect the clamps to the irrigation tube. The irrigation tube is prepared for the
removal of irrigation fluid from two fluid bags. When connecting or removing the
tube to or from the irrigation fluid container, grasp the insertion spike at the
provided handle. Observe sterile conditions when inserting the insertion spike
into the container.
The surgeon has to select an irrigation fluid suitable for the application and
medical procedure.
The main connections of the tube and device items are shown in Fig. 5-7.
