INTRODUCTION (2.2):
Thank you for purchasing one of our generator sets. We would like to draw your attention to a few points concerning this manual:
• This manual gives useful indications for the correct use and maintenance of the generator set to which it refers. It is therefore indi-
spensable to pay the fullest attention to all those paragraphs illustrating the simplest and safest way of using the generator set.
• This manual is to be considered as an integral part of the generator set and must be included at the moment of purchase.
• This publication may not be reproduced, either totally or in part, without written authorization from the manufacturers.
• All information shown hereafter is based on the data available at the moment of printing; the manufacturers reserve the right to make
modifi cations to their products at any time, without notifi carion and without incurring sanctions. It is therefore advisable to check for
any updates.
KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
USE OF THE MACHINE
•THE GENERATOR SET IS DESIGNED TO SUPPLY
THREE PHASE AND/OR SINGLE PHASE ELECTRICAL POWER.
•THE MOTOR WELDING SET IS DESIGNED TO SUPPLY THREE PHASE AND/OR SINGLE
PHASE ELECTRICAL POWER OR FOR ELECTRIC ARC WELDING WITH COATED ELECTRODES.
• NO OTHER APPLIANCES OTHER THAN THOSE INDICATED
SHOULD BE USED.
ISAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (4.2):
WARNING: Failing to observe the following instructions may cause injury to persons and animals and/or damages to things.
The Manufacturer declines any responsibility for improper use.
• Do not run the generator set in closed work areas: the engine produces carbon monoxide and other harmful gases detrimental to
the health of persons who work with it; make sure that the generator set is well ventilated.
• Direct combustion exhaust gas outside the machine room or a reasonable distance away from the workplace and personnel. Use
piping or other extraction methods.
• The generator set must only be run on a horizontal surface to guarantee optimum oil and fuel fl ow to the engine. If it is not possible
to run it on a horizontal surface, provide the necessary means to anchor and level the engine for assuring the machine's stability.
• In case of use during rain or snow, make sure that the generator set is well and fi rmly sheltered.
• Always keep children away from the generator set when in use. Remember that, even after being powered off, the engine will remain
at a high temperature for about 1 hour. The areas where the exhaust pipe, the exhaust hoses and the engine are placed are subject to
high temperatures and could cause severe burns if touched.
• Do not carry out maintenance and servicing when the generator set is working: always stop the engine.
• Refuelling and topping up with oil must be done when the engine is not running; remember that the engine remains hot for about 1
hour after it is turned off.
• It is essential to be aware of the functions and controls of the generator set: do not allow any unauthorized persons to use the machine.
• Improper use of the machine should be avoided, such as using the engine to heat the surrounding atmosphere etc.
• Do not allow any unauthorized persons to use the machine. To make sure the generator set cannot operate, block the system -re-
move the starter key, close and lock the cowling.
• The machine does not need to be in a specially lighted area. However provide adequate lighting in compliance with the norms in force.
• Do not remove the protection devices and do not use the machine without adequate protection (sides and casing) to avoid risks for the user.
• Should it be necessary to remove the protection devices (for maintenance or servicing), this operation should be done with the ge-
nerator set switched off and only by specialized personnel.
• Do not use the machine in an explosive atmosphere.
• In case of emergency do not use water to extinguish a fi re, use only suitable equipment (a powder loaded fi re extinguisher, etc.).
• Whenever it is necessary to work in close proximity to the machine, sound muffl ers should be used (head muffs, ear plugs, etc.).
• The welding electric arc emits ultraviolet radiation which can injury eyes and burn the skin. Wear a welding mask with adiactinic
screen and suitable protective clothes.
• Sparks at hundreds of °C are produced during welding and can be thrown several metres away. Be very careful not to run the ma-
chine - even when it is used as a generator set - next to containers of fl ammable substances and/or in explosive atmospheres.
WARNING: Avoid any direct bodily contact with fuel, motor oil or battery acid. In case of contact with the skin wash with wa-
ter and soap and rinse thoroughly; do not use organic solvents. In case of contact with the eyes, wash with water and soap
and rinse thoroughly. In case of inhalation or swallowing, consult a medical practitioner.

PRELIMINARY CHECKS (5.2):

• Make sure these operations are carried out with the generator set placed on a horizontal and stable surface.
• Oil (provide for fi lling) is the most important element infl uencing the effi ciency and long life of the engine. In the operation and main-
tenance manual are shown details of the type of oil to use and the correct oil level for this generator set.
WARNING: Running the engine with insuffi cient oil could cause serious damage.
• Check the fuel level: use clean fuel free of water.
WARNING: Fuel is highly infl ammable and explosive under certain conditions.
Refuel in a well ventilated area with the engine switched off. Do not smoke and do not approach the equipment with an open
fl ame while refuelling.
Do not overfi ll the tank - i.e do not fi ll up to the cap-, as engine vibrations could cause fuel spillage. Pay attention not to spill fuel while
fi lling the tank. Make sure that the cap is correctly screwed down after fi lling. If fuel has been spilt, make sure that the area is com-
pletely dry before switching on the engine. Avoid any bodily contact with the fuel and do not inhale the vapour. Keep the fuel out of
