As to "PAST ALARM LOG" and "FIRST INSTALLATION", they
are the same for the three programs.
When "PAST ALARM LOG" is displayed, all the alarms recor-
ded by the softener are viewed by pressing the
Alarms are recorded by the softener according to a numerical
order that also provides date and time information.
There are three types of alarm: AS is displayed in case of salt
shortage; E1 and E2 are displayed in case of system errors.
Caution: if salt shortage control is put in the off position, the
softener will not record such event in the log (paragraph 5.6
AS).
When FIRST INSTALLATION is displayed, the softener shows
the date on which the third automatic regeneration was carri-
ed out. It can be treated as the true start of the device.
5.7.3 SALT ALARM
By setting to on comprehensive salt monitoring, the softener
will signal salt shortage in three ways:
- Blinking red led lights (image 9, C,D)
- "ADD SALT" message displayed
- Intermittent audible alarm. Buzzing will last 3 minutes, then
it will remain silent for 7 minutes. Such device is operative
from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00
p.m.
By partially setting to on salt monitoring, the softener will only
signal salt shortage in visual terms:
- Blinking red led lights around the display (image 9, C,D)
- "ADD SALT" message displyed
If salt monitoring is not set to on, no salt shortage will be
signaled.
When the softener is in "salt alarm", the correct procedure to
silence the alarm is the following: simultaneously press the
–
and the
keys to swith off the audible alarm, add salt in the
+
brine tank, press the
key, then press the
one second. (paragraph 7.2.1)
(R) will be displayed. Regeneration in the preset time will be
carried out.
This procedure will take place irrespective of the previously
set schedule.
Press
and
–
to silence the buzzing.
R
Keep pressed the
–
key and then press the
sequence to cancel the salt alarm.
Each time the softener signals a salt alarm, record of
time and date of the event will be kept. It will be viewed
on the display.
6) BLACKOUT AND LONG PERIODS
OF INACTIVITY
If a short blackout occurs, it will not cause any problem. Even
if the blackout lasts a few days the softener is able to store
the data.
If the blackout is longer than 15 days, we recommend
checking all the settings, day and time included.
In the event of a blackout during the regeneration cycle, the
water softener will save which step it was performing before
the interruption.
Once power is back, the step it was in at the time of the
blackout will start from scratch.
If the water softener is non-operational for a few days,
Once power is back, the step it was in at the time of the
blackout will start from scratch (Par.7.1).

7) MANUAL SETTINGS
7.1 MANUAL REGENERATION
To perform a manual regeneration, press the
seconds..
When the regeneration begins, the writing "REGENERATION
OF RESINS" will appear on the display.
During the regeneration, the display will show the current step
and the time left until completion. To skip to the next step,
press and hold the
key for 5 seconds.
R
The regeneration is made of the following 4 phases:
B1 Service mode: the machine is operational. Water from
the system comes in, and softened water comes out.
B3 Backwash: it is the quick rinse phase. Water flows in
the tank backwash, mixing and rinsing the resins and
carrying to the drain any impurities that may have formed
in the water softener during its work.
B5 Brine sucking and slow rinse: during the first part, salt
water is sucked and sent in contact with the resins, to-
gether with the hypochlorite produced by the electrodes
(fig. 10, A). At the end of this phase, a slow resin rinse is
performed.
B7 Refill and quick wash: water is sent to the brine tank in
order to melt the correct amount of salt that will be used
in the next regeneration. At the same time, a resin rinse
is performed.
During steps B3, B5 and B7 the water softener will send water
to the drain.
When the machine is in service mode, the water softener does
not send water to the drain.
Water is always supplied during regeneration.
See CHART 1, paragraph 5.4 for the duration of every step.
7.2 DELAYED MANUAL REGENERATION
By pressing the
button, (R ) will be visible on the display.
R
The softener will carry out a regeneration cycle at the time set
in the program (paragraph 5.3).
7.3 RETURNING TO SERVICE MODE
If you want to interrupt a regeneration and make the valve
return to service mode, press the
time.
7.4 RESIN RINSE PROGRAM
The water softener may sometimes dispense salt water, this
problem can be caused by a lack of hydric pressure during
regeneration, which prevents the water softener from being
properly rinsed.
Thanks to the resin rinse program, the tank will be emptied of
the salt water in a few minutes, and soft water will be supplied
again.
In order to star the rinse cycle:
+
keys until you read "RESIN RINSE"
• Press the
and
OK
on the display.
The water softener will rinse the resins in Backwash mode
(B3) for 5 minutes, then will return to Service mode. It is pos-
sible to interrupt the rinse step at any moment, pressing the
+
key for 5 seconds. The water softener will interrupt the
cycle and will return will automatically get in operating mode.
This is a very useful function also to decrease pressure in the
cylinder, in case maintenance procedures are to be carried
out
(see chapter 9, "MAINTENANCE FOR THE INSTALLER").
8) SETTING WATER HARDNESS USING
THE MIXER
The water softener supplies hardness-free drinking water.
