Setting Up Your Wireless LAN

You can use the gateway as an access point for a wireless LAN (WLAN) without changing the default s ettings.

Prevent unauthorized eavesdropping or access by enabling wireless security after your WLAN is
operational. The default settings provide no wireless security.
To enable security for your WLAN:
Encrypt wireless LAN transmissions

Never provide your SSID, WPA or WEP passphrase, or WEP key to anyone who is not authorized to use
your WLAN.
Do not attempt to configure the gateway over a wireless connection. Connect at least one
computer to the Ethernet port on the gateway. Configure each wireless client (station) to access
the gateway.
Place wireless components away from windows. This decreases signal strength outside the intended area.
