III. Advises
Things to do:
Read these instructions carefully before fitting your child car seat.
Remember, an incorrect installation could be dangerous.
Save these instruction in a safe place, preferably with the child car seat
or in the vehicle so that you can find them for future reference.
Once the child car seat is fitted, ensure that no parts of the seat or vehi-
cle seat belt can get trapped by the moving parts of the vehicle's seat
or the vehicle's door.
Make sure that the vehicle seat belt is tight and the child car seat is
held firmly in place, every time you use the child car seat.
Check every time you fit the child car seat that the vehicle seat belt has
not become twisted.
Each time the child is placed in the child car seat, make sure that the
seat belt is properly adjusted to the child's body and its buckle is pro-
perly secured.
VERY IMPORTANT: the seat belt of the vehicle MUST ALWAYS be
used to secure the child.
Isofix connectors are additional devices to fix the seat only, but
they are not meant to retain the child.
Before travelling, check that luggage or other heavy or sharp objects
are secured in the car; loose objects are liable to cause injury in the
event of an accident.
The child car seat must always be secured with the safety belts and
(when it's possible) , with the Isofix connectors, even when not being
used to transport a child to prevent it from being thrown about in an
accident.
When travelling with other passengers using both the front and rear
seats, the lighter occupant should be in the rear of the vehicle and the
heavier occupant in the front passenger seat.
