The positive terminal of the battery must be protected
with Vaseline to prevent corrosion and the formation of
oxide.
For top-ups with sulphuric acid,
ready solutions must be used.
The battery top-up operations with
distilled water or with acid must be carried out with
rubber gloves and protective glasses to prevent accidental
contact of the sulphuric acid with the skin.
In the event of accidental contact, thoroughly wash the
part affected with soap and water and consult a doctor.
Before recharging the battery
check the level of the electrolyte and, if necessary, fill
up with distilled water. This operation must be
repeated when the recharging cycle has been
completed.
