To install a new motor and capacitor assembly plate see Figure Q on page 53 and follow
the steps below.
1. Place the new motor and capacitor assembly plate on the bottom of the machine and
replace the four screws that attach the plate to the machine.
2. Attach the supply cord to the motor base plate by replacing the two screws on the
left corner of the plate.
3. Replace the red and white wires and screw the wire nuts into place.
4. Replace the left gear cover plate.
If the heater in your machine does not seem to be heating properly, it may be tested to
see if it is defective before replacing the part. To test the heater, follow the steps below.
1. Turn the power switch off and unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the brush tank. The thermostat adjustment is now visible. See Figure R.
Caution! The water in the tank and the exposed brush tank post may be hot.
