4. Remove the two screws on the left corner of the base plate to remove the supply
cord from the motor base plate.
5. Loosen the wire nuts that group the white and red wires and disconnect these wires.
6. Lift the entire motor and capacitor plate assembly from the machine. See Figure Q.
7. The motor should be tested with jumper wires. Put the two red wires together and
attach the jumper wires to both of the red wires and the white wire on the motor
and capacitor and plug the jumper into an electrical outlet. 110 volts will pass
through the jumper and start the motor if it is not defective. If your machine is a
220V machine, be sure to test the motor with 220 volts.
8. If the motor will not start, a new motor and capacitor plate assembly should be
installed.
