1.3.2 Relative Contraindications
In case of the following indications, consultation with a physician is required:
Skin diseases / injuries, inflammatory symptoms, prominent scars on body
parts to which the orthosis is to be applied that are swollen, reddened and
feel excessively warm; lymphatic flow disorders, including unclear soft tis-
sue swelling distant to the body area to which the orthosis is to be applied;
sensory and circulatory disorders of the leg.

1.4 General Safety Instructions

INFORMATION
The patient is to be instructed in the proper use / care of the product.
The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by
trained, qualified personnel only. The daily duration of use and period
of application are dependent on medical indication by the physician.
CAUTION
Risk of injury as a result of improper use. The product is designed for
use on one patient only. Consult a physician immediately if you experi-
ence unusual changes (such as increase in pain).
Improper changes to the product are not permitted.
An orthosis / support applied too tightly to the body can cause local
pressure and, in some cases, even restrict adjacent vessels or nerves.
Do not apply the product too tightly.
NOTICE
Risk of damage due to incorrect environmental conditions. This product
is not flame-resistant. Keep it away from flames or other heat sources.
The product should not come into contact with grease or acidic agents,
unguents and lotions.
1.5 Scope of Delivery and Design
The 50S8 Malleo TriStep Ankle Orthosis is supplied ready for stage I use.
The velour fabric material consists of skin-friendly polyamide. The integrated
plastic insert (polyethylene) of the orthosis is anatomically pre-shaped. If
necessary, the orthotist may slightly modify its shape by cold forming. The
