Adjusting the Load Capacity
• Prior to making load adjustments, attach your working load to the fully retracted cable.
ATTENTION !
!
• Adjusting in the "plus" (+) direction increases the load capacity (spring tension).
• Adjusting in the "minus" (-) direction reduces the load capacity (spring tension).
• The correct setting is achieved when the suspended load can be effortlessly pulled into
the desired position and then returns to its starting position when set free.
• All spring balancers are factory-preset to "maximum load". Subsequent settings must be
documented in writing in order to ensure that both the permissible "maximum load" and
"minimum load" limits are always respected.
Please pay attention to the type-specific load information provided below. Non-observan-
ce will destroy the spring inside the housing!
• 7200, 7211 and 7212:
Upon pressing the shaft (11) inwards, you'll feel the spring pretension acting upon your
adjusting tool. Be sure to hold the tool firmly!
• To make load adjustments, the following tools are
required:
– 7200 and 7211/7212: hexagon socket (Allen)
wrench (4 mm)
– 7221/7222: hexagon socket (Allen) wrench (6 mm)
• Adjusting procedure for 7200 to 7212:
Insert the Allen wrench into the shaft (11), then press
inwards (hold tool firmly!). Rotate wrench to set the
load as appropriate within the approved adjusting
range.
• Adjusting procedure for 7221 to 7222:
Insert the Allen wrench into the adjusting screw (14).
Rotate wrench to set the load as appropriate within
the approved adjusting range. The adjusting screw
(14) acts upon the shaft (11), which has a mark on the
outside. You can use this marking to track the adju-
sting process.
• Column "X" = maximum number of rotations permit-
ted in the "minus" direction, starting from the factory-
preset "maximum load" level.
