SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Operator:
■
Young people under 16 years of age, and
people who do not know the instructions for
use, are not allowed to use the machine.
■
The machine must not be operated if the ope
rator is under the influence of alcohol, drugs
or medication.
Personal protective equipment:
■
Wear clothing and protective equipment in
accordance with the regulations in order to
avoid injuries to the head and limbs, as well
as to avoid hearing impairment.
■
The clothing must be appropriate (tightly fit-
ting) and must not restrict movements. If you
have long hair, it is essential to wear a hair
net.
The personal protective equipment compri-
ses:
■
Protective helmet
■
Hearing protection (e.g. ear defenders)
■
Protective glasses or face visor incorpo-
rated in the protective helmet
■
Protective trousers with cut protection in-
lay
■
Sturdy working boots
■
Safety boots with high-grip sole and steel
toe caps
Working area:
■
No-one else is allowed to be in the working
area of the saw. Pay attention to children and
animals.
■
The user is responsible for accidents invol-
ving other people and their property.
■
Keep the working area free from off-cuts and
other objects - danger of stumbling.
■
Keep w ork area clean and w ell lit. Cluttered
and dark areas invite accidents.
■
Do not use the chain saw in an area where
there is a fire risk or in a potentially explosive
atmosphere.
Operating times:
■
Observe local ordinances regarding opera-
ting times.
■
Work only when there is adequate daylight or
artificial lighting.

The machine must be in a safe operating con-
dition.
■
Never work alone.
■
Immediately renew damaged or worn parts.
■
Remove setting and assembly tools before
starting operation.
■
Do not use the chain saw for levering or mo-
ving wood.
■
Only use the machine if it is in the technical
condition stipulated by the manufacturer.
■
Pay attention to the risk of an electric shock.
Avoid touching metal objects in the ground
or which are conductively connected to the
ground.
■
Do not undertake sawing work in the rain,
snow or stormy weather. Do not use the saw
in wet or damp surroundings.
■
Do not deactivate safety and protection de-
vices
■
Always ensure stability when working.
■
Do not overreach. Keep proper foo ting
and balance atall tim es. This enables better
control o f the power tool in unexpected situa-
tions.
■
Before starting work, inspect the material to
be sawn for foreign bodies, in order to prevent
kickback.
■
Only start the cut once the saw chain is run-
ning, never switch on the machine with the
saw chain already in the kerf.
■
Always hold the chain saw firmly in both
hands when working.
■
Do not use the chain saw above shoulder
height, since safe handling is no longer pos-
sible in this way.
■
Do not work standing on a ladder, working
platform or up a tree.
■
The hand grips must be clean, dry and free
from oil.
