4 Handling
INFORMATION
The daily duration of use and period of application are generally determined by the physi­
cian.
The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional changes are noted (e.g.
worsening of the complaint).
4.1 Size Selection
1) Measure the circumference of the thigh 15 cm above the centre of the patella.
2) Measure the circumference of the lower leg 15 cm below the centre of the patella.
3) Determine the size of the orthosis (see size chart).
4.2 Fitting and Application

Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
Instruct the patient to inspect the product for proper functionality, wear and damage prior to
each use.
Advise the patient that the product must not be used if the product or part of the product
exhibits signs of wear (e.g. cracks, deformation, poor fit) or damage.
4.2.1 Adaptation
The joint bars are fitted individually by trained qualified personnel.
INFORMATION
The joint stops (medial and lateral) must have the same degree settings.
Available extension stops (square grip):
Available flexion stops (round grip):
1) Pull the black strap upwards to remove the bracket over the joint bar (see Fig. 8).
2) Pull the joint bar out of the orthosis (see Fig. 9).
3) Insert the desired extension and flexion stops (see Fig. 10).
