2 Description of the appliance
3 Safety instructions and regulations
If the flue pipe is partially or completely blocked or the
air pressure conditions inside the building prevent suffi-
cient flue gas extraction, the flue gas sensor detects a
rise in temperature and stops the gas supply.

Safety instructions and regulations
Caution!
To tighten or loosen bolts, only use suitable
open-ended spanners (do not use pliers or
extensions etc.). Improper use or unsuitable
tools can cause damage, such as gas or water
leaks.
3.1
Safety instructions
3.1.1 Fitting
Caution!
Do not install the gas instantaneous water
heater above an appliance which might damage
it (such as a cooker producing grease vapour),
or in a room with a corrosive or very dusty
atmosphere.
3.1.2 Installation
Danger!
Risk of poisoning, explosions and scalding.
When fitting the connections, make sure that
all seals are correctly installed, so that no gas
or water can leak out.
Danger!
Danger of scalding and damage due to escaping
hot or cold water. If plastic pipes are used for
the hot and/or cold water connections of the
device, only pipes which are temperature-resist-
ant to 95°C at a pressure of 10 bar may be
used.
3.1.3 Initial operation
Danger!
Faulty combustion can cause lethal levels of
carbon monoxide.
Only convert the appliance top a different type
of gas using the conversion kits supplied by the
manufacturer.
4
Danger!
Unsuitable burner nozzles can cause malfunc-
tions and lethal gas leaks.
Only convert the appliance top a different type
of gas using the conversion kits supplied by the
manufacturer.
Caution!
Do not start up the appliance if the connection
pressures are outside the permitted range.
Notify the gas company if you cannot rectify
the cause of the problem.
3.1.4 Inspection and maintenance
Danger!
Risk of poisoning and explosion due to a mal-
function.
Never put the safety devices out of operation or
tamper with them so as to impair their function.
Danger!
Carbon monoxide poisoning.
Never put the flue gas sensor out of operation.
Otherwise, in unfavourable conditions in the
chimney over a long period, flue gases may flow
back into the room where the appliance is fit-
ted.
Caution!
When removing or installing the heating ele-
ment, take care not to bend it.
Any damage will lead to premature wear in the
system.
Caution!
Never use wire brushes or other hard brushes
to clean the heating element.
Any damage will lead to premature wear in the
system.
3.1.5 Troubleshooting
Danger!
Carbon monoxide poisoning.
If the flue gas sensor is defective and the flue
pipe or chimney are completely or partially
blocked, unfavourable air flow conditions in the
chimney over a long period may cause flue
gases to flow back into the room where the
appliance is fitted.
Danger!
Carbon monoxide poisoning.
The appliance's safety shutdown system may
have been deactivated in order to make repairs.
