If the Dräger X-act 5000 is used for measurements in areas
that are difficult to access, an extension hose can be attached
to the tube on the instrument.
To achieve correct measurement results, only use the
standard extension hoses detailed in chap. 9 on page 25.
The Dräger X-act 5000 will identify the used hose during
measurement.

Preparation for use

3.1.1
Preparing the Dräger X-act 5000 for use
1. Make sure that the used battery pack is sufficiently charged:
Charge the rechargeable battery (see chap. 3.4.1 on page 18) or
insert alkaline batteries in the compartment of the alkaline battery
pack (see chap. 3.4.3 on page 20).
2. If necessary, connect a hose to the pump exhaust and make sure
that the waste gas is exhausted.

Switching on the Dräger X-act 5000
1. To switch on the Dräger X-act 5000 press the "OK" key until the
numbers 3 ... 2 ... 1 are displayed sequentially.
The firmware version is indicated on a startup screen. The Dräger
X-act 5000 automatically runs a self test.
After the self test, the instrument displays any errors or warnings
which occurred during startup.
2. Confirm if the leak test is to be carried out or not.
3. When the leak test is completed or skipped, select the measuring
mode.
When the Dräger X-act 5000 is switched on, the latest selected
operating mode including the set number of strokes or volume flow
rate will be preset.
