Some tubes must not be used in areas subject to explosion
hazards. Follow the relevant instructions for use of the tubes.
When this type of tube is scanned in the "BARCODE
OPERATION AIR" mode of operation, the
indicated in the matrix display.
Caution when opening the tube, and be aware of any
detached glass splinters. The ends of the tube may have
sharp edges; risk of injury!
Do not look into the bar code reader and do not view the laser
output with optical instruments (e. g. eye loupes, magnifiers,
and microscopes), because this may pose an eye hazard.
CAUTION
!
Make sure that any detached glass splinters do not enter the
Dräger X-act 5000 to avoid a contaminated or clogged tube
socket (gas inlet). When you use interfaces or make
adjustments or perform procedures that are not specified in
these instructions for use, this may result in hazardous
radiation exposure.
If quality parameters of the instrument are faulty, the instrument will
indicate that the measurement was invalid. Then, the
("Error") will be indicated and the red LED will flash until
acknowledged. If the measurement is finished without error, the green
LED will flash until acknowledged.

Making a measurement with a tube

For measurements in technical gases using tubes, only the
menu "MEASUREMENT TECHN. GAS" shall be used.

The "MEASUREMENT TECHN. GAS" mode is designed to
consider the different viscosity of a technical gas compared to
the viscosity of ambient air. Prior to this measurement, the
user must adjust the volume flow needed for the
measurement in technical gases.
1. Select "SHORT-TERM TUBE" from the menu.
2. Decide if air or technical gas is to be measured:
a. If air is to be measured, select "MEASUREMENT AIR".
b. If a technical gas is to be measured, select "MEASUREMENT
TECHN. GAS".
3. If "MEASUREMENT AIR" is selected, decide whether bar code
operation or manual operation will be used.
4. Follow the instructions on the display.
