The TCX3000 is able to work on all types of low profile and reinforced sidewall run-flat
tyres without any need for specific accessories.
For other types of run-flat tyre, refer to specific instructions supplied with the special
accessories.
The mounting and demounting procedure is the same for both self-supporting run-
flat and low profile tyres.
WARNING!
It is essential to follow the instructions closely to avoid
irreversible damage to the tyre, which might put the vehicle's
safety at risk.
WARNING: Figs. K/1 and K/2 show the points with the highest risk of damage during
demounting (K/1) and mounting (K/2): these are the traction points where the tyre
is very taut against the edge of the rim.
WHEEL CLAMPING
1- Make the appropriate checks on the tyre and rim as described on the relevant section on page 44 of this manual.
2- Clamp the wheel on the chuck, proceeding as described for "standard" wheels in the "WHEEL CLAMPING" section on page 45 of this
manual.
BEAD BREAKING
Break the tyre bead, proceeding as described for "standard" wheels in the "BEAD
BREAKING" section on page 46 of this manual.
DEMOUNTING
1- Move the lower bead breaker disc away to the rest position.
2- Turn the multiple tool (revolver) to bring the hook tool into the working position.
3- Turn the chuck until the valve is at the 1 o'clock position.
4- Place the tool about 5 mm from the outside edge of the rim, touching the tyre (see
Fig. O/1).
5- Start rotation and at the same time begin to insert the tool into the tyre, always
working along the profile of the rim, until the bead engages on the tool (see Fig. O/2).
6- Move the tool a little away from the rim to prevent damage to the sensor (if any),
then turn the chuck until the valve is at the 12 o'clock position.
7- With the wheel at a standstill, move the hook took slowly back until the laser
pointer is outside the rim.
8- Lift the bottom bead breaker disc so that it presses on the bottom bead and keeps
the tyre lifted up, simplifying the operations which follow.
