OPERATION
CROWN AND BASEBOARD SETTING LEVER
See Figure 49.
The crown and baseboard setting lever is helpful when mak-
ing miter cuts up to 45° for tall crown molding and vertical
baseboard.
Use the crown setting for tall crown molding of 4-5/8 in.
and taller.
NOTE: For cutting crown molding less than 4-5/8 in. tall,
slide the saw head to the rear most position with the crown
and baseboard setting lever in the down position.
To position for tall crown molding:
 Unplug the saw.
 Loosen the slide lock knob and pull the saw head forward.
 Flip the crown and baseboard setting lever up.
NOTE: This lever position is for left and right miter cuts
up to 45°
 Push the saw head all the way toward the rear of the saw
until the saw head stops and tighten the slide lock knob.
 Perform a dry run prior to making any cut after repo-
sitioning the sliding miter fences to ensure there is no
interference.
 To disengage the crown setting lever, unlock the slide
lock knob, push the crown and baseboard setting lever
in.
To position for vertical base molding:

 Loosen the slide lock knob and push the saw away from
you and toward the rear of the saw.
 Flip the crown and baseboard setting lever up while pull-
ing the saw head toward the front of the saw until the
baseboard lock groove engages.
NOTE: This lever position is for cuts between 45° left and
45° right.
 Tighten the slide lock knob securely.
 Perform a dry run prior to making any cut after repo-
sitioning the sliding miter fences to ensure there is no
interference.
 To disengage the baseboard setting lever, unlock the
slide lock knob, push the crown and baseboard setting
lever in.
VERTICALLY CUTTING BASE MOLDING
AGAINST THE MITER FENCE
See Figure 50.
 Set the bevel angle at 0° and the miter angle at 45° to
either the left or the right. (For making 90° corners.)
 Place and secure the base molding vertically against the
fence using a spring clamp and hold the base molding
securely.
NOTE: To avoid interference between the base molding
and the motor, the molding should be placed no more than
