– USER MANUAL
My child is moving their legs,
but their arms are fixed behind
them. What should I do?
We want to encourage the
reciprocal movement of natural
crawling where possible. If working
with a child with low upper body
strength or tone, you can support
them by placing the palms of their
hands, with each step they take.
Try alternating from working with
the infant from behind, to working
with them in front. Work with
them to bring their arms by their
side, with forearms or palms flat on
the floor.
My child's legs are fixed out
behind them, like they're
'swimming' in the air. How can
I encourage them to bend and
flex their leg?
This would suggest that the
infants' hips are raised too high
and is likely due to the infant
being placed too far up on the
product or, due to using the
wrong size of insert.
Follow these steps:
1. Refer to the Sizing Table to
check suitability.
2. Check the insert setting. If you
have progressed from Size 1 to
Size 2, you should use setting
A. You should see the letter
'A' facing upwards. If you have
just purchased Size 2, you
should begin with insert A and
check the amount of clearance
between the infant's knee when
flexed, to check if the insert is
sufficiently raised. Refer to the
sizing table for further guidance
on insert sizing requirements.
3. Try moving the infant slightly
further down the product
to enable their feet to make
contact with the floor surface.
Ensure that their shoulders do
not fall below the top of the
shoulder straps as this may
cause instability issues.
For further advice on sizing, please
consult with the infant's therapist,
or contact Daytot Customer
Services.
