Installation instructions
Select a quiet location that cannot be accessed
by cats and other animals.
Fasten the product to a garden shed, a wall or a
tree trunk at least 2–3 metres off the ground.
When fastening to a tree, use rustproof nails
or screws. Alternatively, you can use fixed wire
hangers that do not damage the tree.
Items of the same build and intended for the
same bird species should be hung at spacings of
at least ten metres (exception: colony breeders
such as sparrows, starlings and swallows). This
ensures that the breeding birds also find enough
food for themselves and their offspring.
The product is best installed in autumn to allow
birds, small mammals and insects to use it for
roosting and hibernation.
Storage and cleaning
Since old nests often harbour fleas, mites or
louse flies, please clean the product after the
breeding season. Clean in late summer or else
not until the end of February to avoid disturbing
hibernators such as dormice.
