GAS REQUIREMENTS
-
Only use propane.
-
The heater is designed for use with a 11-13 kg cylinder. Maximum size of cylinder
suitable for the appliance, with regulator attached, is 31 cm x 64 cm. Inner
dimension of stand within the supporting bars is 32 cm x 69 cm.
-
The device requires an approved gas hose 60 cm long and a regulator, or a gas
hose 140 cm long and a regulator if no gas pipe (approx. 84 cm) is used.
-
The maximum regulator inlet pressure should not exceed 690 kPa (100 PSI).
-
The regulator outlet pressure must be 37 mbar.
-
Hose and regulator must comply with local regulations.
-
The installation must comply with local regulations, or, in the absence of local
regulations, with the standard for the storage and handling of liquefied petroleum
gases.
-
A dented, rusted or damaged gas cylinder can be dangerous and should be
checked by your gas supplier. Never use a gas cylinder with a damaged valve
connection.
-
The gas cylinder must be positioned in such a way that the vapour can be
removed from the working cylinder.
-
Avoid twisting the flexible tubes and hoses.
-
Never connect a gas cylinder that does not meet the requirements of the patio
heater.
-
Disconnect the gas cylinder if the patio heater is not in use.
LEAKAGE TEST
Gas connections on the heater are leak tested at the factory prior to shipment. A
complete gas tightness check must be performed at the installation site due to
possible mishandling in shipment or excessive pressure being applied to the heater.
The heater must be checked with a full cylinder. Warning: never leak test while
smoking!
1. Make sure the safety control valve is in the OFF position.
2. Make a soapy water solution of one part liquid detergent and one part water.
The soapy water solution can be applied with a spray bottle, brush or rag to all gas
connections. Soap bubbles will appear in case of a leak.
3. Turn the gas supply ON.
4. In case of a leak, turn off the gas supply. Tighten any leaking fittings, then turn
the gas supply ON and recheck. Contact your dealer or gas supplier for assistance if
bubbles continue to appear.
