8. STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Turn off fuel switch and ignition switch to avoid fuel leakage during transportation. Gasoline vapor and
leakage can be easily ignited.
DANGER. Deje que el generador se enfríe antes de transportarlo o guardarlo para prevenir
quemaduras debido a contactos accidentales con las superficies calientes del motor. Ponga atención y
procure que la unidad no se caiga durante el transporte. No coloque objetos pesados sobre el generador.
When storing the generator for a long period of time, do the following:
Store in a dry and clean place. Carry out the maintenance according to the following table:
Storage time
Less than one month
From 1 to 2 months
From 2 to 12 months
1 year or more
** A gasoline stabilizer can extend the life of the gasoline in the tank.
CAUTION: If you are not going to use the unit for a long period of time, please disconnect the positive
pole of the battery and wrap it with insulating tape.
What to do before storage
Carry out the following steps if the generator is to be stored for a long period of time:
- Loosen the carburettor drain nut and remove all the fuel inside the carburettor (Picture 1).
- Change the engine oil (Picture 2).
- Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon of engine oil into the cylinder.
- Pull the hand starter gently to distribute the oil evenly. Pull gently until you feel resistance and keep
pulling until you overcome it. Once past this point, both the intake and exhaust valves of the engine will
be closed and we prevent rust from building up in the engine block.
DANGER. Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. Perform these steps in a well-ventilated area
and with the generator turned off. It is forbidden to smoke, or to be near any incandescent element,
sparks or flames.
