Connections in a building electrical system
Connections to a building's electrical system for backup power must be made by a professional electri-
cian. The connection must isolate generator power from utility power and must comply with all applicable
laws and electrical codes.
WARNING: Improper connection of the generator to a building's electrical system can allow current
to flow from the generator to utility lines. Such comments can electrocute utility technicians or anyone
else who comes in contact with the lines during a power outage. Consult your utility company or a
professional electrician.
CAUTION: Incorrect connection to a building's electrical system can allow electricity to flow from the
grid to the generator. When power is restored, the generator may explode, burn out or cause fires in the
building's electrical system.
