Operation
Starting Operation
Inserting the battery
Use only original Bosch lithium ion batteries with the
voltage listed on the nameplate of your power tool. Using
other batteries can lead to injuries and pose a fire hazard.
Insert the charged battery pack 1 from the front into the pow-
er tool. Press the battery pack completely into the power tool
until the battery is securely locked.
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, first push the lock-off button for the
On/Off switch 3 and then press the On/Off switch 4 and keep
it pressed.
The power light 2 lights up when the On/Off switch 4 is slightly
or completely pressed, and allows the work area to be illumi-
nated when lighting conditions are insufficient.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off switch 4.
Note: For safety reasons, the On/Off switch 4 cannot be
locked; it must remain pressed during the entire operation.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
Protection Against Deep Discharging
The Lithium-Ion battery is protected against deep discharging
by the "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)". When the battery is
empty, the machine is switched off by means of a protective
circuit: The inserted tool no longer rotates.
Temperature Dependent Overload Protection
When using as intended for, the power tool cannot be subject
to overload. When the load is too high or the allowable battery
temperature of 70 °C is exceeded, the electronic control
switches off the power tool until the temperature is in the op-
timum temperature range again.
Working Advice
When working with the machine, always hold it firmly
with both hands and provide for a secure stance. The
power tool is guided more secure with both hands.
Select the suitable cutting position for your workpiece, so
that as many teeth as possible of the band-saw blade 6 are in
the cut (see figure G).
Switch the machine on, place it with the guide 5 onto the work-
piece and slowly lower the band-saw blade 6 into the cut.
Work with moderate pressure and uniform feed.
Reduce the pressure just before ending the cut and slightly
raise the machine, so that it does not fall on the workpiece.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the machine itself (e.g. mainte-
nance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool.
There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating
the On/Off switch.
Bosch Power Tools
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and ventilation slots clean.
When the battery is no longer operative, please refer to an au-
thorised after-sales service agent for Bosch power tools.
